The Georgian Bar Association hosted a courtesy visit from the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Georgia, Didier Trebucq.
During the meeting, Mr. Trebucq congratulated the Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, Irakli Kandashvili, on his election and wished him success in his new role. He also emphasized the important role of the Georgian Bar Association and every lawyer in ensuring reliable, independent, and high-quality justice in the country.
The parties discussed the ongoing cooperation between the Georgian Bar Association and the United Nations, as well as prospects for future collaboration and opportunities for implementing joint initiatives.
Irakli Kandashvili highlighted the importance of cooperation with international partners in the process of the Association’s institutional development. He noted that such partnerships play a significant role in strengthening professional standards, enhancing lawyers’ qualifications, and expanding educational opportunities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia, Didier Trebucq, reaffirmed his readiness to support and cooperate with the Georgian Bar Association in order to contribute to its further strengthening and development.
