Digital Development Achievements Summarized at the Georgian Bar Association

1 August 2025

The Georgian Bar Association is consistently advancing its work in the direction of the profession’s digital transformation. As part of this goal, in May 2024, the Association and the non-profit organization “Nastavia” signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at assessing digital opportunities and risks in the era of artificial intelligence, accompanied by relevant recommendations.

Nastavia conducted a detailed review of the digital platforms administered by the Bar Association, including the Examination Portal, the Lawyer’s Portal, the Ethics Commission’s electronic system, the Penitentiary Booking Portal, and the electronic services of the Adaptation Course. Notably, the analysis of these platforms was carried out from both technical and user perspectives, incorporating best international practices.

During the research process, a series of focus group discussions was held with lawyers from various practice areas, which helped identify practical needs and systemic challenges. The results were summarized in the assessment report “Digital Transformation of the Legal Profession in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, which will serve as a strategic guide for the next stage of the Association’s digital transformation.

To present the work carried out and share the findings, Nastavia delivered a preliminary report to representatives of the Georgian Bar Association. The meeting was attended by the Association’s Chairperson, Davit Asatiani, as well as members of the Executive Board, the Ethics Commission, and the Association’s committees.

For years, Nastavia has been implementing public projects for the public sector and professional associations, including within the legal field. Through this collaboration, it was important for us to involve the Georgian Bar Association in a digital transformation process that serves a common goal — improving access to justice and introducing efficient services within the legal profession.
