Levan Makharashvili
Executive Board Member
On December 21, 2025, Levan Makharashvili was elected as a Member of the Executive Board of the Georgian Bar Association by the decision of the General Assembly of the Bar Association. From 2022 to 2025, he was appointed by the Executive Board of the Georgian Bar Association as Chair of the Working Group on the Jury Trial Institution.
Levan Makharashvili graduated from the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State
University in 2005. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the same faculty.
Professional experience:
From 2006 to 2012, Levan Makharashvili held various positions within the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia. His professional background includes service at the Investigation and Criminal Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as well as at the Special Operative Department’s Division for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking, where he served as a prosecutor in the Department of Procedural Supervision of Investigations. He later served as Head of the Legal Department of the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and as Head of the Department of Procedural Supervision of Investigations overseeing cases within the public safety services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Special Service of Foreign Intelligence, and the ministries responsible for defense, corrections, probation, and legal aid.
Since 2012, he has been the Managing Partner of the law firm DLG&Case LLC. Since 2020, he has served as a trainer at the Georgian Bar Association, and since 2024, he has been a full individual member of the European Attorneys Association (AEA-EAL).
Since 2007, Levan Makharashvili has been engaged in academic and teaching activities at various universities. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles and has been awarded the Order of Honor by Presidential Decree No. N30/05/04 of the President of Georgia.
