Evaluations of Judicial Candidates for the Supreme Court of Georgia

The Working Group on the Evaluation of Judicial Candidates has conducted evaluations of an additional four candidates for the position of Supreme Court justice, in connection with the ongoing selection and confirmation process in the Parliament of Georgia.

As a reminder, the Working Group on the Evaluation of Judicial Candidates was established by a decision of the Executive Board of the Georgian Bar Association. It is composed of the Executive Director of the Bar Association and five members of the Committee on Justice and Judicial Reforms.

The evaluation of the candidates for the position of Supreme Court justice was based on interviews conducted by the High Council of Justice of Georgia, observation of the hearing process in the Parliament of Georgia, and the review of other relevant information concerning the candidates. The Working Group conducted the evaluations using fair and objective criteria, in accordance with the pre-established evaluation methodology.

The evaluation report prepared by the Working Group was submitted by the Georgian Bar Association to the Parliament of Georgia.
