  • Condolences in regards to passing away of Ms. Lucy Dupong

    On behalf of Georgian Bar Association I would like to extend our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences on the passing of Mrs. Lucy Dupong.

    She was indeed an extraordinary, kindhearted, benevolent person and outstanding professional.  Mrs. Dupong demise is an immeasurable loss, her contributions to the legal profession will not be easily forgotten. She will be sorely missed.

    During this difficult and challenging times we pay heartfelt homage to the departed soul. Our hearts go out to her family, as well as to her friends and her colleagues.

    Once again with a tremendously heavy heart and respect we send our sincere condolences to Mrs. Dupong family.

Was born in 1967, 8th of  June.

In 2015 was awarded with the Medal of Honor by President of Georgia for defending the rights of lawyers and for his contribution in the institutional strengthening of profession. 

In 2015 was awarded by the Ukrainian National Bar Association with Medal for “Lawyers profession development”.

Since December 27, 2009  he has been elected to the post of a Chairman of the “Georgian Bar Association. He is the founder and chairman of the first  Trade Union of lawyers. By the results of inquiries of the paper “Banks and Finances” after Patriarch of Georgia he was nominated as a man of  2009 and 2013 years. In 2005-2009s. he was the member of Executive Board of the “Georgian Bar Association”.

Since 2005 he is the founder member of the Lawyers Association.

In 2003 at the European Court of Human Rights he won the first trial in the history of Georgia, “Asanidze vs. Georgia”.

Since 1995 he has been conducting the advocacy activity.

In 1994-96. At Tbilisi Humanitarian University he delivered the course of lectures in Criminal Law.

In 1994 he graduated from Iv. Javakhishvili  State University, faculty of Law.

On 7 December 2013 has been elected for the second term to the post of a chairman of the Georgian Bar Association
